In order to cope with the increased volume of cycling, improved knowledge of the quality of cycling infrastructure and more efficient planning are necessary.

The mFUND-funded project INFRASense aims to develop a data-based assessment of the cycling infrastructure to support cycling planning.

The necessary data will be collected with the help of interested citizens in several data surveys in Oldenburg and Osnabrück starting in 2023. In addition, quality criteria will be developed that can be used to evaluate the cycling infrastructure. These will be evaluated within the framework of INFRASense together with citizens and experts.

In addition to the citizens, this project aims to cooperate with various actors from administration, urban and transport planning as well as the economy in order to include as many different perspectives as possible.
