The interdisciplinary innovation network TurbuMetric is formed by the Jade University of Applied Sciences, the University of Oldenburg and the Emden-Leer University of Applied Sciences together with the Oldenburg energy cluster OLEC and other cooperation partners from industry. The project deals with optical 3D measurement techniques for recording dynamic fluid-structure interactions in turbulent wind environments. The aim is to simultaneously record turbulent wind flows (fluid behaviour) and deformations of the rotor blades of wind turbines with high spatial and temporal resolution in order to gain new insights into the behaviour of the rotor blades under load.
On 11.01.2022, the project results were successfully presented to 30 participants by the sub-project leaders Prof. Dr. Thomas Luhmann, Dr. Gerd Gülker and Prof. Dr. Iván Herráez. The programme was rounded off by a lecture by Prof. Dr. Martin Kühn (University of Oldenburg/ForWind) on future perspectives in wind energy research.
